To mark Global Recycling Day (18th March 2024) Gloss Fuel is introducing 100% Recycled and 100% Recyclable 5 Litre Jerry Cans to its line-up. Initially, three products will be available in these innovative and environmentally friendly containers:
- Citrus Fuelled Pre-Wash
- Citrus Wheel & Tyre Cleaner
- Iron Fallout Remover
Grey is the new green
The distinctive greenish-grey 5 Litre containers are made from 100% PCR (Post Consumer Regrind) but are still 100% recyclable. The colour of the Jerry Cans varies from batch to batch, due to the differing quantities of different coloured plastics used in their production – more dark plastics = darker grey containers, more light coloured plastics = lighter grey containers.
The theme for Global Recycling Day 2024 is #RecyclingHeroes. As our natural resources deplete at an alarming rate Global Recycling Day 2024 is putting the spotlight on people and businesses that showcase the importance of recycling for an environmentally stable planet and a greener future for all.

As Gloss Fuel co-founder Bert Redfern explains: “Many brands strive for consistency in their branding and packaging, so don’t want to use plastic containers where the colour can vary dramatically. Whilst we also strive for consistency in our branding, we see these 100% recycled and 100% recyclable containers as a badge of honour. They’re also a call to arms for the wider detailing industry to do more for sustainability.”

A rallying cry to the industry
Not content with our commitment to minimise single use plastics, Gloss Fuel now offer 100% carbon-neutral shipping on all orders. The company has joined the Shopify Planet scheme which means that any carbon generated when our orders are shipped is now fully offset. Additionally, the scheme supports organisations which sequester carbon captured from the atmosphere, for up to 1,000 years. Together, participating businesses have removed thousands of tonnes of carbon from the atmosphere whilst providing carbon-neutral shipping on more than ten million orders.

Quick Gloss ReFuel
Finally, we’re pleased to be introducing two new Gloss Fuel 1 Litre ‘Refuel Packs’ for our incredible Gloss Enhancing Drying Aid and the aforementioned standout Quick Detailer Spray.
The Gloss Fuel QDS is our biggest seller and demand is such that introducing a 1L Refuel Pack is a no-brainer. Customers who are enjoying using the QDS can now keep their original QDS trigger spray bottle and simply refill it when they run out. The innovative Refuel Packs use 75% less plastic, are 100% recyclable, further minimising single use plastics.
