Bouncers Done & Dusted 'vs' Gloss Fuel Quick Detailer Spray
Bouncers Wax
The Bouncers Wax brand was born in 2011. Founder Jay Sultan initially began blending and producing traditional show waxes – the first such product being ‘22’. These waxes were licensed and marketed by Dodo Juice, first reaching a European, and later a Global audience.
The Bouncers car care range of unique waxes grew, with each one sporting a memorable name, like ‘Satsuma Rock’, ‘Sherbet Fizz’ and ‘Vanilla Ice’. Next came the wax safe car shampoo ‘Slick Mick’ and the award nominated Quick Detailer ‘Done & Dusted’. Specialist and limited edition waxes like Bouncer’s Fortify Winter Wax were also added along with SiO2 infused blends. The product range has grown and now covers all aspects of car care and car detailing.
Each product in the Bouncers detailing range is hand blended and hand poured in the UK with a constant, laser like focus on quality control. Bouncer’s offer their high performance, premium products throughout the UK, Europe, Asia and the USA.

Gloss Fuel Quick Detailer Spray Overview
How to Use Gloss Fuel QDS Quick Detailer
Before you use Gloss Fuel Quick Detailer Spray, you need to carefully wash your car.
As a Traditional Quick Detailer Spray
Gloss Fuel Quick Detailer Spray is a traditional, non-ceramic, gloss enhancing Quick Detail Spray. You spray this Last Stage Protection (LSP) product onto your vehicle, after the contact wash, then buff off with a microfibre towel, to reveal a high-gloss, wet-look shine.
Before using Gloss Fuel Quick Detailer, gently shake the bottle to ensure that the ingredients are properly mixed. Liquid detailing products like Quick Detailer Sprays can occasionally suffer from chemical separation if left to stand for a period of time. Mixing the chemicals will help you to achieve the best results when using the product.
It can be used on both waxed, protected or un-protected cars, on wet or dry paintwork, and can be used as a drying aid.
As a Drying Aid
To use Gloss Fuel Quick Detailer Spray as a drying aid, complete the safe wash process, rinse and get ready to dry. Then apply a couple of sprays of Gloss Fuel Quick Detailer Spray and dry each panel with a soft, clean microfibre drying towel. The quick detailer will serve two functions if used in this way.
Firstly it will add extra lubricity as you dry the paintwork, helping to minimise swirls and micro-marring which can be induced from towel drying. Secondly, it will add some gloss and protection as well as reducing the chances of water spots being left behind.
Finally, dry your vehicle as normal and apply the Gloss Fuel Conditioning Tyre Serum to dress your tires.
To use Gloss Fuel QDS more like a typical Quick Detailer Spray, complete the safe wash process, dry your car, then apply a couple of sprays of Gloss Fuel Quick Detailer Spray directly onto a clean dry panel.
Working one panel at a time, gently and carefully spread the product across the entire panel using the microfibre. Flip the towel to a dry side, or use a fresh microfibre to buff to a high gloss finish.
Ease of use of Gloss Fuel Quick Detailer Spray
Whether you're using Gloss Fuel Quick Detailer Spray as a drying aid or applying as a standard QDS, the process is straightforward on any type of vehicle. The application feels exceptionally smooth, and even under challenging conditions - like on dark, warm panels - we haven't experienced any streaking or smearing.
For optimal performance, tackle one panel at a time. Spray two to three mists either onto a clean microfibre towel or directly onto a cool, clean panel. Use the towel to spread the product evenly across the surface. Afterward, flip to a dry side or grab a second clean towel to gently buff away any remaining residue.
Benefits of Gloss Fuel Quick Detailer Spray
Gloss Fuel Quick Detailer Spray enhances your vehicle’s paint and trim by providing a rich, wet-look shine. Beyond its role as a traditional quick detailer, it effectively removes water spots, light dust, and fingerprints. While it offers some hydrophobic protection, this layer is lighter and doesn’t last as long as a standard wax or sealant.
When it comes to boosting gloss, Gloss Fuel QDS stands out noticeably. It's regularly ranked among the top performing products in its category, delivering a deep, reflective shine. Additionally, it creates an impressively slick finish that you can really feel.
A great feature of this Quick Detail Spray from Gloss Fuel is its compatibility with wax. You can confidently apply it over existing or freshly applied wax layers without any issues.
Gloss Fuel Quick Detailer Spray also serves as an excellent drying aid. Use it after washing your car and before towel drying. This not only adds slickness to ease drying but also leaves behind an extra glossy finish that enhances your vehicle’s appearance.
Value for money of Gloss Fuel Quick Detailer Spray
Gloss Fuel QD offers excellent value, with each application (using 25-35ml of product) costing approximately £0.70 per vehicle. It comes in two convenient options: a 500ml trigger spray bottle and a 1000ml eco-friendly ‘Refuel Pack.’ Once your 500ml bottle runs out, simply refill it from the handy Refuel Pack.
Cons of Gloss Fuel Quick Detailer Spray
This Quick Detailer isn't suited to ceramic coated vehicles. It won't damage or degrade the coating, but it isn't formulated to work effectively with ceramic coatings. Nor is it a long term protection product. But if you're looking for an instant hit of gloss post the contact wash, or between washes, then this is product that you're looking for.
Bouncers Done & Dusted Overview
Ease of Application of Bouncer’s Done & Dusted Quick Detailer
Whether you’re using Done & Dusted as a drying aid or regular QD, its super easy to apply to any vehicle. It is super slick to apply and we’ve seen no streaking or smearing. That’s despite applying it directly onto warm body panels in less than ideal conditions.
We always advise working one panel at a time. Mist two or three sprays onto a clean microfibre towel or spraying directly onto a cool, clean body panel. Spread the product evenly over the panel with the microfibre towel. Flip the towel to a dry side, or use a fresh towel, then buff to remove excess product. It’s that simple!
Benefits of Using Bouncer’s Done & Dusted Quick Detailer
Bouncer’s Done & Dusted Quick Detailer adds an extra layer of wet-look gloss to your paintwork and trim. It can be used to remove water marks, light dust and finger prints.
Done & Dusted also adds some protection, though won’t last as long as a wax or sealant.
In terms of the amount of gloss that Done and Dusted adds, it’s very noticeable. We rate it highly, amongst the top five when compared to rival products in its class. This quick detailer spray also adds a level of slickness to the touch. You can feel the improvement in the surface slickness through your finger tips.
A core benefit of this particular quick detail spray from Bouncer’s is that it is wax safe. You can use Bouncer’s Done & Dusted Quick Detailer on top of existing or fresh layers of wax. It’s perfectly paired with any of Bouncer’s own paste wax products, as well as those offered by rival brands.
Bouncer’s Done & Dusted Quick Detailer can be used as a drying aid. Apply Done & Dusted QD after your regular wash routine, before towel drying. Not only will it add lubricity, but it will also leave behind extra gloss which helps to improve the look of your car.
Value for Money of Bouncers Done and Dusted Quick Detailer 500ml
Bouncer’s Done & Dusted Quick Detailer 500ml is great value for money. The cost of a typical application, based on 25-35ml of product, is around £0.75 per car. Done & Dusted is available in both 500ml and 1000ml trigger spray bottles plus a 5000ml bulk offering.
Cons of Bouncers Done & Dusted
If you're looking for a long term protectant for your paintwork, Bouncers Done & Dusted isn't that product. Nor is it ideally suited to ceramic coated vehicles.
Bouncers Done & Dusted or Gloss Fuel Quick Detailer Spray: Which should you choose?
Bouncers Done & Dusted is a fantastic quick detailer - no question. But there's a reason that Gloss Fuel Quick Detailer is one of the company's best selling products. It's same reason that YouTuber, Podcaster and Detailing expert Paul Dolden stated that Gloss Fuel Quick Detailer was his 'Standout Product of 2023' during his bi-weekly podcast.
The Gloss Fuel Quick Detailer is just better - that's why we think it's the best alternative to Bouncers Done & Dusted.
